What is the Quad Bulletin about?

There is a growing interest in the Indo-Pacific region. The past few years have seen an increase in the number of minilateral and multilateral groupings in the region. The Takshashila Institution’s Quad Bulletin attempts to track the developments of one such grouping — the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, and use insights from those developments to understand the larger Indo-Pacific region.

This newsletter covers activities, events, and happenings that impact the Quad’s agenda, functioning, and as an actor in the Indo-Pacific region. We are particularly interested in two themes: diplomacy and capabilities.
Diplomacy—or diplomatic discourse—concerned with the Quad, centres on tracking the four countries’ deals, plans, and dialogues within the grouping as well as with other important actors.

The Quad also focuses on capability enhancement in the region. After all, it is a grouping that pools its resources and attempts to work on key and emerging challenges in the Indo-Pacific region by investing these resources in the right places. The newsletter tracks government-led activities, initiatives, and industry-specific developments across the broad areas like defence, technology, energy, and infrastructure in which the Quad operates.
